Demetra McBride, Director, Climate Action & Sustainability, Santa Clara County/Office of the County Executive, shares her three goals for working with the 15 County cities and other Bay Area Counties to plan for progress in economic development, environmental integrity and social equity (the “3 E’s” of sustainability). She is responsible for developing and implementing programs to help communities plan for the future that is measured in months and years, not generations. Santa Clara County is headquarters for innovative corporations such as Adobe, Google, Apple, Hewlett Packard, Intel, Stanford, Yahoo, IBM and SAP, which continue to provide the world with breakthroughs that enrich people’s lives and corporations and government increase revenues.
